We spotted these boxes in a local window display and had to share them with you here. The neighborhood optometrist used clear acrylic boxes to “store” the season’s colors, making a beautiful display for the latest eyewear. Here we see twigs, red maple leaves, acorns, apples, evergreen clippings, straw and pinecones. It makes for an eye-catching modern take on the cornucopia.

We could see doing something similar on an autumn tabletop, maybe with a series of cheap Rektangel vases at IKEA. Gathering the materials yourself for a display like this could make for a cost-effective centerpiece at the autumn dining table. Make it into a fun activity with family or friends: the outcome will be personalized little specimens of autumn color from your own yard or neighborhood.
