We long to have a permanent creative space instead of lugging the sewing machine and supplies out onto the dining table anytime we feel inspired. We had our socks knocked off when we saw how Kirsty was storing her cotton reels, using an IKEA frame and some free pencils. Good looking, practical and space saving, see more below the jump…

After receiving some free packs of kiddies pencils, Kirsty shaved the pencils down so the cotton reels would fit over them. She then spacing the pencils evenly apart on the frame and glued the ends down using PVA glue. Matching the pencils and thread colours in most cases, we think that this is a really clever and creative approach to storing cotton reels. We think it's the perfect art for ones creative space. More info available on Kirsty's blog kootoyoo.
