We loved Laure's thoughts on slowing down and Abby's ideas on vacationing at home. If you're looking to slow down, vacation at home and do something a bit more active than just relax, may we suggest doing something fun like crafting? Read more after the jump...

Even if you manage to complete a home project every now and then, when was the last time you made something just for yourself and just for fun? Making crafts can be a great activity to enjoy by yourself or with kids and friends, and you'll get that great feeling of accomplishment after your project is done.

Austin residents will have the opportunity to learn some tricks to crafting this weekend at the book release party of Naughty Secretary Club founder Jennifer Perkins' new book: The Naughty Secretary Club: The Working Girl's Guide to Handmade Jewelry. The release party will be held on Saturday, August 30th from 3pm - 6pm at Craft-O-Rama on South Congress.

Not that we would ever officially condone crafting at work, the best part of this book is that if you can't take an actual vacation to craft, you can still take mini craft breaks throughout your work day with Perkins' fun and clever craft projects.

If you don't live in Austin, you can still partake in the at-home or at-work crafting: you can purchase Jennifer's book on Amazon.com.
