Deer are a serious threat to gardens in our area and there's little to do to prevent them from munching on your veggies other than building a really tall fence or using deer netting. While any implementation of deer netting will do the trick, rarely will it look good. But neighbors of our figured out an easy way to create an attractive solution using little more than some PVC pipe.
Using 1/2" PVC and a 3/4" coupling, the pipe is simply arched across the garden bed, suspending the deer netting to protect the plants. Simple, cheap and far easier than creating an elaborate frame or tall fence to keep out the deer, the excess netting was taken into a bunch and tied lightly, but the entire protective screen can be easy removed for planting or harvest.
