091708art-02.jpgWe've seen framed art on bookshelves and Abby did a great post a while back on unconventional ways to display art but we've never seen framed art on a staircase. We think it's a great idea--find out why after the jump.

While the art dispayed in this picture is not quite our taste, we do love the idea of sectioning off the space with artwork. It's a great way to extend wall space in a kitchen where there's oftentimes little room left for personal touches. Taking this idea a step further, we'd like to see a chalk board or magnetic board or even a cork board attached to the railing. Since many bill paying stations and paperwork centers are operated out of the kitchen, the board would act as an extension of the "office area."
