Look!: Harry's Open Shelving Storage Solution

Our friend Harry recently moved into a newly rehabbed coach house with his family. One of the many gorgeous details of the new space is the open shelving in the kitchen, but that calls for nice looking storage options - not always easy. Harry put together this simple display of staple foods that is both practical and beautiful.

A great cook lives in this home (Brenda!) who makes good use of the grains, beans and pasta on a regular basis, so it was important that they be close at hand. The clear, stackable storage canisters are from The Container Store. They are the Stack 'n' Store line, provide a tight seal, and are priced from $6.99 - $8.99, depending on size and shape. In addition to looking good, benefits to this type of storage are the lack of commercial labels, instant visual access to what you are looking for and the simplicity in seeing what needs to be replenished on the next trip to the market.

It inspires us to tackle our own food storage, which thankfully for the state they are in at the moment, are behind closed doors!

(Thanks Harry and Brenda!)
