Look!: Our new bedroom floors
The process was a bit painful. Take every single book (two walls full), each piece of furniture, every article of clothing, and all the toys an eight year old owns and move them from the bedrooms of your apartment and stack it in your living area. Then live, work, eat and sleep in the middle of everything for a week while you paint the two rooms and then (finally!) have new floors installed.
We replaced our old carpet in the bedrooms with Mannington Commercial hard flooring from Home Carpet One in Midnight and Cayenne. We are happy with the results – it feels clean, modern and the furniture just seems to float on the color fields below. The transition from the hardwood we have in the rest of the apartment to the bedrooms works too – the nice clean edges of the hard floors next to the warm wood tone looks good.
We painted the walls high gloss super white in both rooms to bounce the natural light around and balance the intensity of the color on the floors. A long process (the ceilings are high, arggh!), but again, we like the end result.
Mike, the installer from Home Carpet One did an amazing job. He was friendly, speedy and his work is impeccable.
And the best part is, it’s done!
