Ok, so we've made a call on vintage tech becoming a new décor trend, but what about using vintage tech as a modding trend? Above you'll see the ear and mouth piece of an old school telephone receiver. They've been repurposed to become salt and pepper shakers. The audio holes act as spice dispensers, while everything's held in place by vintage blinkers from a Morris Mini car.
Designed by Henk Stallinga, you can buy these for $22 via Charles & Marie.
Other cool products from Charles & Marie after the jump...
The Sanctuary, $130, conceals a universal charger compatible with over 1,500 electronic devices from most major brands and a USB port allowing hundreds more electronic devices to be charged using just this one little box. Charge your cell phone, iPod, and bluetooth headset simultaneously in one location.
D°Light Huggable, $160, is a soft and fuzzy pillow filled with silicone bean bags that contain high intensity LED lights. Powered by 4 AA batteries, or you can hook it up to the adapter.
Bottle Cap Tripod, $10. We don't think there's a cheaper tripod out there. This little doodad slides onto most water caps, while the universal adapter fits onto pretty much every camera and the little hinge lets you swivel your cam to get just the right angle.
