This wildly stunning beach house, completed in August, is located anonymously on the coast of Mexico. It features a rooftop swimming hole, an outdoor shower, panoramic seascape views, and an unfussy interior — a dream getaway from a New England winter!
The inspiration for this project was derived from the Jantar Mantar observatory in India and was the vision of Mexican artist Gabriel Orozco. A collaborative project with Mexican architect, Tatiana Bilbao, the house measures 45 x 45 feet, with two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen.
The simple materials list includes cast concrete, wood, prefabricated blocks, and whitewashed plasterwork. The collaborators have well succeeded in creating a home that is an extension of the landscape while beautifully maximizing outdoor space.
