Los Angeles Now Has a Permanent Hello Kitty Café
Sanrio fans, now you don’t need to head to Asia to sip a latte featuring your favorite cartoon cat (or—sorry—girl). There’s now a Hello Kitty themed café in Southern California.
With a lot of pink and even a neon sign of Hello Kitty’s face, the café is located in the Westfield Santa Anita mall in Arcadia, and had its grand opening this weekend. This permanent version comes after a pop up was a huge success in Irvine last summer.
According to Eater, treats like cake, pies, and “donut macarons” are on the menu, as well as hot and iced coffee beverages, iced teas, hot chocolate, and strawberry or blackberry mint lemonade (yum!). And it’s no surprise that the bites are as cute as Ms. Kitty herself:
I’ll take one of everything, please.
Of course there’s Hello Kitty latte art—would you expect anything less?
Even the water bottles—shaped like Hello Kitty’s famous bow—are adorable.
I mean, this is just too precious.
Hello Kitty Café also has a truck that travels around the Golden State dishing out sweets and merch; according to the shop’s Instagram, it was in San Francisco as of yesterday for the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival.
When you think of all the strange things Hello Kitty’s visage has graced over the years (an airplane, airport terminal, supermarket, and yes, even a maternity ward), a latte and some dessert are pretty mild.
Would you sit down for some Sanrio sweets? Tell us in the comments.
