I was so excited to spot a slat bench on Bazaar because I personally have wanted one forever. My parents have a similar bench in their home that I’ve been wanting to steal for awhile, because these pieces are so versatile! Fear not, though, this one is still up for grabs, because I unfortunately just don’t have the room in my current apartment!

Slat benches are great because they’re multifunctional and super in style, even they’re a total mid century modern throwback. I’ve seen them used as end of bed benches and coffee tables, but they also make great nightstands, if you’re fortunate enough to come across one in a smaller size. They look lovely decorated with a tray or stack of coffee table books, but many also choose to throw a sheepskin blanket atop the slats to add some coziness (which is key if you’ll actually be sitting on the bench and not just using it as a surface!).
