Today I swung by & Other Stories, the H&M affiliated shop that's bringing minimal European style to the States at (somewhat) reasonable prices, to buy some more hand soap for my bathroom. On the way back to the office, it occurred to me that my mother, if she were to know, would be absolutely horrified at my paying eight dollars for soap, because I'm pretty sure all the soap in her house is like, Ivory soap that costs ten cents a bar.
But then I reasoned that eight dollars isn't really very much to pay to turn washing your hands after you do your business into a transcendent experience, and then I started thinking there must be other little things out there that will make your home feel special and luxurious without blowing your budget. So I looked around, and I found a few of them, and here they are.
