Green Fist (acrylic, resin, and tissue on canvas)
We first noticed Carmel-based artist Liz Russell’s work when we discovered The Beholder, an online gallery we wrote about a couple of months ago.
Russell’s art is a combination of vibrant colors and strong patterns, but with a delicate touch. Her mixed media pieces incorporate patterned fabric, acrylic paint, charcoal, leather, paper, pastels, and acrylic resin.
Crooked Rose (triptych: acrylic and resin on found fabric)
The Beholder writes: Liz’s work incorporates and transforms imagery from a variety of sources including botany, product design, medicine and the decorative arts.
Acanthus 2 (acrylic, resin, and paper on paper)
Blue Fling (diptych: acrylic and tissue on found fabric)
More of Russell’s work can be seen here.
