With the introduction of the latest iPod Nano, a whole new door opened for the accessories devoted to this minuscule touch screen device. So small, yet, packing many great features. It's like a shuffle with a color screen! One company that saw an opportunity was LunaTik.

Scott Wilson, founder of Minimal and former Global Creative Director for Nike Watches had an idea that no manufacturer wanted to make, So he put the project on for fundraising... and the response, was overwhelming. They needed $15,000 in 30 days; and ended with $1 Million, instantly validating his design globally. This is what we think of the Lunatik iPod Watch Band we received few days ago.

The Lunatik simply transforms the iPod Nano into a watch that you can wear. We love that they pick quality material, premium bands and excellent craftsmanship in construction. It matches Apple's philosophy 100%.

The materials and the finish for the "production ready" sample we've got, is beyond what you would expect from that price point. The frame, holding the iPod, is Forged from Aerospace Grade Aluminum and then CNC machined into its final shape. The corners are well defined and radioused, the finish is even on all the parts and they all mesh perfectly when assembling them. The straps are made of high grade silicone (think Nixon watches), that has a velvety feel and are thick enough to keep the iPod in place and well secured. All the hardware for the straps are made of solid stainless steel, so there's no fear of discoloration, allergic reactions with the skin or breakage.

The box comes with everything you need to get you started. Instructions via pictures are easy to follow; and even inludes the two Allen keys necessary for the straps screws. Talking about the screws, the easy way to fasten the screws for the strap, could've done via one long screw that goes from one lug to the other via a threaded hole at one end. Instead, they chose the path of making a tiny allen screw that goes inside the long screw, not only creating a more secure way of fastening the straps to the case but also, making it visually appealing with two screws on each side of the case. Fantastic!
