With Madewell’s New Line, You Can Basically Wear a Comforter as a Coat
I love when the fashion and home design worlds collide, especially when that result is a truly smart and unique collaboration. Even better if said collaboration solves a problem or addresses a gap in the market. All of those things are pretty much the case with Madewell’s latest launch, a cold weather essentials collection made partially out of recycled plastic bottles in partnership with Buffy. Yes, that Buffy, who you probably know for their mega-cozy and sustainable eucalyptus comforters.
I actually have a Buffy comforter, and I’d be lying if I said I’ve never thought to myself, “I wish I could just wear this thing outside.” I mean, that’s essentially what winter coats are to an extent. So it makes perfect sense that the core piece in this line is—you guessed it!—a puffer coat with Primaloft insulation, which is featured elsewhere in the collection, too.
The sleeper hit (get it?) of this assortment, however, might just be the mufflers, which are available in three pretty sunset-colored shades: antique cream, dusty blush, and golden pecan. For $55, you’re getting a lot of wearable warmth. As many of us try to make the outdoor living season last a little longer this year, a piece like this, which is essentially just a super warm, bulky (in the best way possible) scarf, would certainly come in handy, particularly as the country appears to face a heat lamp shortage. The more you can bundle up with comforter-like accessories, the better! Matching mittens and a very giftable eye mask are part of the line, too.
You can also buy Buffy’s instafamous Cloud comforter and duvets on Madewell now as well. Keep an eye out for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals here. You just might be able to snag better Buffy bedding prices on Madewell, provided items aren’t excluded from promotions.
