Wreaths, trees and garland are all nice and fine, but our favorite seasonal decoration is a winter village. It's like having your own Who-ville for kids to play with. The only problem is that most we see for sale or either tacky or too expensive. So we let out a little squeal when we saw Cassi of Bella Dia's version made from plain old cereal boxes.
She chose bright colors, but you could choose neutrals depending on the look you're going for. These could also be decorated by you and your kids to receive doors, windows, flower boxes, etc. Cassi also suggests using them as gift boxes or even for a small advent calendar village.
