Our compact flash card reader is sadly on the fritz. Of course this gives us an excuse to check out all of the great compact flash card readers that are available in stores and that people have made. Since we love all things Altoids, one of our favorites is the Altoids USB Compact Flash Card we spotted on Instructables.
Instructables user MichaelMcNair spotted the NES controller mod on Instructables which got him thinking about ways to modify a compact flash card reader. This project took him less than 45 minutes to complete.
In addition to the compact flash card reader and Altoids tin, you will also need 4 rubber feet, superglue and a grommet. The only tools that are required are a Dremel and pliers.
We think this is a fun way to make a neat looking compact flash card reader that you'd be proud to show off. It's fast, easy, and would also make a nice gift for the Altoids loving photographer.
Check out the post on Instructables, for the ultra simple DIY instructions.
