Regardless of the advancements in video game tech, old school arcade gaming still holds a place in our hearts, which is why we could not help writing about this project we spotted on Instructables. This project combines two things we are passionate about, classic gaming and upcycling of old tech. Read on and learn how to turn those old ball mice into classic arcade spinners.

Instructables user TieDyedPie built their own arcade cabinet and were looking for just the right arcade spinners when they decided to use an old ball mouse to create their own.

To make this project you will need: an old ball mouse, a peanut butter lid, an assortment of small coins, and a few LEGO pieces (a four or six-peg axle, 2 small right-angle gears, a large wheel, a beam, and some spacer bits.

We think this is a clever way to re-use obsolete tech and items that you might already have around the house. If we decide to build our own arcade cabinet we know just where to turn for classic spinners.

Check out the project on Instructables for the complete instructions.
