The star of Tanika & Brian’s chic and modern NYC apartment? That just might be Tansy the dog and the cozy geometric cubby she calls home in their space. It’s a handmade piece that you can slap together in a weekend and take home to your own fuzzy family.

Amid cries of “Ooh” and “Ahh” and “Where can I get that?,” reader reldihs pointed out in the comments of Brian and Tanika’s tour that this cubby looked a lot like a DIY project by Ben Uyeda. You can follow along with the video below or the tutorial on Homemade Modern to learn how to make it yourself. Ben suggests that the project should cost only $30 (a little more if you want to line it with felt like Tansy’s cubby), and around 7 hours.

It’s not an exact match, but pretty darn close. And let’s face it: Both versions are a big improvement over most pet store dog beds, for both your aesthetics and your pup’s security and comfort.
