Have you been to the craft store lately? There are all sorts of cool stamps that utilize clear plastic blocks for backers. They're neat, but get super pricey and you're stuck to the same designs as everyone else. This tutorial shows you how to make your own so you can get busy creating your own custom prints.

Over at Craftzine they've featured a really fun tutorial that you just have to see. I'm a huge fan of figuring out how to do things yourself and I was elated to see that someone had made a way around those prepurchased and pricey stamps at the craft store.

They're ok, but usually intended for smaller projects, so if you're not scrap booking with them, then they're usually too small for things like linens or wall art. With this tutorial, you could make whatever shape or size stamp you wanted. It could be a quick fix for a paint job that looks like patterend wallpaper, or something smaller like a shower curtain.
