Chubby crayons are great for young kids learning to color and aren't prone to breaking like twigs the way thin crayons can. And twist-up chubby crayons are even stronger. Beckie figured out how to make her own with old broken crayon bits, a few empty glue stick tubes and her microwave.
Making your own chubby crayons can be tricky without a mold and although you can easily make them in muffin tins, Beckie's version are able to be tossed in a purse without worrying that you're marking up the inside of your handbag.
Check out Beckie's instructions on her blog Infarrantly Creative and file the idea away for a rainy day activity.
