Every job comes with its pros and cons. As a beauty editor, an obvious perk is getting to try out all of the new skincare, makeup, and hair products, often before they’re even on the market. It’s pretty exciting to dip your eyeshadow brush into a palette when it hasn’t even been swatched on Instagram yet or be a guinea pig for the latest anti-aging ingredient. But sometimes the best part of the job can also be the hardest. Where do you stash all your products and how do you keep your makeup organized?

It took me a long time to find the answer to that question, but once I did it was a game changer. After loads of searching, I discovered this acrylic storage set on Amazon. It’s basically a one-stop organizer for makeup that can sit on any vanity or bathroom counter, and it’s under $35. One of the things I love about it is it’s clear, which makes it easy to spot everything inside, unlike opaque boxes and cases where things tend to get stuck in corners and black holes.

The top portion is ideal for storing lipsticks. Each bullet of lipstick has its own slot, so it’s a cinch to keep them organized and easy to grab. The open compartment next to it is perfect for tall items, like foundation and primer bottles, or makeup brushes. The wide drawers seem like they were made for storing makeup palettes. Plus, the smaller drawers fit eyeshadow pots, blushes, and items of that ilk. The boxes can hold larger items—think makeup sponges.

Stackable and detachable, each compartment can be reconfigured and organized a number of ways as shown above, so you can personalize the setup for your needs. You can even buy the pieces separately to build exactly what you need.

The acrylic is thick and durable, so you don’t have to worry about it easily cracking. Plus, it’s simple to clean. Makeup is notorious for leaving messes everywhere, but you can wipe up spills and loose powders with a wet cloth. What’s not to love? It’s certainly made my life—and job—much easier, and I think it’ll do the same for you and your morning routine.
