Changing out the switch plates in a room can be a quick and affordable way to add a little fun to a wall. It's an especially handy way to customize a room in a rental apartment. If you can't paint those white walls, you can at least add a little character with a snazzy light switch! Here's a roundup of a few cool plate covers from etsy sellers.

  • This hand-painted chocolate and pistachio cover is by Canadian etsy seller BouncingOfftheWalls.
  • This black and white damask plate cover by FunkyChickenDesigns is coated in acrylic for durability and easy cleaning.
  • This oversized yellow and bronze mosaic plate cover by sooz1 would brighten up any wall.
  • A pink gothic paper covered switch by IamTamCreates could be a funky bright spot in the room.
  • Using vintage wallpaper, etsy seller Fondue has given this switch plate a whimsical makeover.
