Mandy Moore Just Won a People’s Choice Award, but I’m More Interested in Her New Statement Rug
I’ve been a Mandy Moore enthusiast for a while now. Easily the most relatable of the early 2000s teen pop stars, she has managed to stay relevant for over two decades for her considerable acting and singing chops. For the past few years though, it’s her checkerboard rug (toggle right on her Instagram post below to see this stunner in all its glory)!
Prior to this, Moore had a very neutral Momeni patterned rug from AllModern in this space. Now though, her front room is rocking an old school checkerboard motif in the slightly unexpected, warmer color combo of brown and off-white. My guess is her new rug is vintage, wool, and likely from Morocco, but you can get this bold look from Etsy in all different colors and sizes. This design below, despite looking a little yellowish in its main photo, is a dead ringer for Moore’s style once you click through and see it up close.
Personally, I’m more of a stripes person when it comes to floor coverings, but I have to admit, the checkered motif really makes a strong statement here and looks lovely with the blue velvet chairs and amber colored mirrored coffee tables. Don’t mind me—I’ll just be over here obsessively watching Moore’s Instagram for her next big design change. Fingers crossed it’ll be a guest room-turned-nursery!
