Marie Kondo Is Sparking Joy with Her New Children’s Book
You don’t have to be an adult to spark some joy.
Marie Kondo, founder of the KonMari Method and star of “Tidying Up with Marie Kondo” on Netflix, has written a children’s book that will debut later this year. “Kiki & Jax: The life-changing magic of friendship,” a 40-page book written for ages three to seven, tells the story of Kiki, a collector, and Jax, a sorter. The duo always have fun together, “but when Kiki’s things start getting in the way, they have to figure out how to make room for what’s always sparked joy – their friendship.”
On her Instagram page, Kondo shared a bit more detail about the new project. “It’s a timeless story about friendship, and I hope that the characters of Kiki and Jax will inspire children and families to tidy and embrace joy!” Kondo said.
It sounds like the children’s book isn’t all that Kondo has in the pipeline, according to her announcement last week. Of course, her children’s book is just another win in her already thriving literary career. “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up,” a guide to decluttering and organizing your home, went on to become an international sensation, while “Spark Joy” guides readers on how to using her signature KonMari Method. There’s also “The Life-Changing Manga of Tidying Up,” a graphic novel about a young woman who hires Kondo to help get her home (and her life) in order.
“Kiki & Jax: The life-changing magic of friendship,” is available for pre-order now, and hits shelves in November.
