Marie’s Corner and Central Station Come to Lekker

The Belgium designers behind the beautifully upholstered line Marie's Corner and the finely crafted pieces by Central Station debuted their lines at the South End shop Lekker (who is currently carrying the collections exclusively in this region) during the Belgium Design Event this evening.

Both collections stay true to clean lines similar to those typical in Scandinavian design but Marie's corner incorporates slightly more playful colors and textures (a great way to breath life into a contemporary space) and Central Corner emphasizes fine details and beautifully textured elements of hammered steel and handcrafted hardwood.

The designers Laetitia Low and Paul Delaisse were on hand throughout the evening to talk about their work and their genuine enthusiasm for good design and good craftsmanship was apparent. While both lines originated in Belgium they are being produced in the US, allowing the store to offer custom pieces without the lead-time and cost of importing. If you're considering investing in a piece of furniture with an emphasis on both style and quality their collections are worth checking out.
