An outdoor space doesn't have to be brimming with cultivation and landscaping. Creating a special outdoor space could start from something as simple as a carefully-placed stack of stones:
We've seen this done on less beaten paths to show that someone had been there. But this is also a small way to "tend" to a small outdoor space of your own. A neatly stacked grouping of stones shows that you have paid attention to their arrangement. This touch from you hand, no matter how small, begins to demarcate an outdoor space as a place where you spend time and may return again.
We think this could be a lovely way to tend to an outdoor space as small as a front stoop or box garden.
