Maximizing Storage in a Furnished Rental?

Q: I am moving into a new 1 room apartment in a week time and the landlord said that he can remove some of the furniture and just leave the ones I want to keep. I will also bring a small book shelf and a piece with drawers and i don't want to cover the windows (there are 2 windows on the left and right wall of the room). Any ideas on how I can arrange the furniture to have as much lighting as possible and also create a storage space near the closet? Also, do you have any idea on how I can create a storage space in the bathroom? The apartment is only 25 sq m, so I'm thinking of working with high pieces of furniture.

Editor: Oana- we see a noticable lack of shelving in your new apartment. With such a small floorplan, you should definitely consider utilizing all that available wall space (either bookcases or wall mounted shelves). Shelving in the bathroom would also increase your storage space and tone down those very bright tiles! Readers, please share your advice in the comments below, and help Oana create some much needed storage in her new apartment.
