Apartment Therapy founder Maxwell Ryan is in the New York Post this week, talking about his design inspiration and sharing his favorite tips on travel, art, and of course, creating a home that's complete and happy.
Here's Maxwell on the importance of art:
I have lots of art hanging in my living room. Many of them are by my mother, Mary Ryan, and I have several from a friend who lives in the Bay Area who has been painting for many years named Emily Payne
. I believe art is the most aspirational part of the home, and the most spiritual. It’s not essential — you don’t eat on it, you don’t sit at it, you don’t wipe your feet on it — and that’s what makes it so special.
