Our judges will be hard at work this weekend, reviewing your Room for Color favorites in all five categories. Today and tomorrow, we'll introduce you to each of our lovely panel members one by one, talented designers and color lovers, all. First, meet Abigail Ahern.

Here's what you need to know about Abigail...

Designer, style maven, and author Abigail Ahern is recognized amongst design aficionados and devotees alike for her enchanting take on interiors. She is an influential tastemaker highly acclaimed for her trend setting designs that are synonymous with glamour, eclecticism and wit. Internationally renowned for her uncompromising taste, Abigail has redefined the visual landscape with her cleverly mixed collections and regularly contributes to television and radio programs, magazines, and newspapers. Heralded as ‘style spotter extraordinaire’ by The Times newspaper, she has established her position at the front of the design trail with her original interpretational of trends, her unique sense of style, and a wholly individual approach to interiors.

And what colors she loves…

I am completely drawn to and utterly obsessed with dark inky bottom-of-the-lake type hues. So charcoals, petrol blues, olives, blacks, as they make rooms feel so utterly comforting and snugly. No matter the size of the space, large or small, these hues make everything else pop out and look and feel far grander than they really are. In my pad (in the photo above) against a dark backdrop, I’ve upped the ante by accessorizing with some strong shots of colour - think electric blues and bright reds. I call them off-radar colors, but they totally elevate the room to new heights. In order for the whole thing not to look or feel crazy, I’ve reined in the colour palette so only two hues shout for attention. The rest of the colours hang out and quietly do their job. This is one of my favorite rooms— one that I actually never want to leave.
