The Royal Family: They’re just like us! No, not really. But while last year’s royal holiday card embraced a pretty formal style, this year they decided to go rather casual. Taken at the family’s home, Amner Hall, by photographer Matthew Porteous, the shots were released Friday morning and show a less rigid side of the family.

Clad in jeans, William and Kate sit on a tree holding little Charlotte, who looks stylish in a skirt and tights, and Louis in an adorable baby blue sweater. George is also sporting denim, paired with a sweater and blue Hunter wellies, with one leg up in the air to let us know that he’s the clearly the most spontaneous member of the family.

This isn’t the first time Porteous has photographed the family. Town & Country pointed out that he captured that famous shot of Kate with baby Louis at his christening back in July.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released an additional photograph taken following the christening of Prince Louis on Monday 9th July.
Their Royal Highnesses hope that everyone enjoys this lovely photograph of Prince Louis as much as they do.

He also snapped the adorable photo of Prince George hamming it up in his birthday photo this summer.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new photograph of Prince George to mark his fifth birthday – thank you everyone for your lovely messages ?

Also departing from tradition this year are the Sussexes, who decided to go with a candid shot from their May nuptials.
