Mendelsons Liquidation Outlet: The First Place to Look for Every Last Thing

If you happen to find yourself in the Dayton, Ohio area, take a detour downtown to Mendelsons Liquidation Outlet. There’s a reason Mendelsons claims to be “the first place to look for every last thing” – because you will find absolutely anything and everything here!

Across the street from the minor league baseball stadium (go Dragons!) in downtown Dayton Mendelsons occupies a giant warehouse building that is filled with a fascinating mish mosh of products. Mendelsons has been buying inventories since 1960 and that’s part of what makes it such a fun store. Stacked on shelves and spread out across the warehouse space, you’ll find a little bit of everything from every decade of the late 20th century. From office furniture to lockers, restaurant supplies to uniforms, plus a whole lot of liquidated party supplies and other inventories from shuttered dollar stores, it’s easy to get lost in the labyrinthine aisles of the massive warehouse.

The third floor, accessible by a giant freight elevator manned by a Mendelsons employee, houses more electrical supplies than I’ve ever seen. The tube room houses shelf after shelf of every imaginable television and radio tube imaginable – plus a filing cabinet filled with old radio and TV manuals. It’s positively quaint to walk through all of those old tubes, thinking of the days when people would repair their big bulky televisions and radios.
