We love the idea behind Talila Abraham's Metalace art pieces: building on the history of handcrafted vintage lace work, Abraham uses "contemporary materials and advanced technology" to create something new. These Metalace tabletop pieces are made from stainless steel and based on 16th through 19th-century lace patterns from around the world:

Above: Spotted in the winter issue of CS Interiors, the gold thread "Honey Mood" bowl runs $80 (19th century delicate east european Lace Pattern)

Eastern Candy (Hand Crafted 19th century Romanian Lace Pattern)

Sultana (Double lace technique - 18th Century Flemish bobbin lace)

Classic Verde (Ethnic embroidery Bedouin /desert women works)

Doily (Late 17th Century Milanese bobbin lace)

Eastern Candy coasters, set of 6 assorted; (Hand Crafted 19th century Romanian Lace Pattern)
