Location: Dallas, Texas
I describe myself as a city hippie. I love clean modern lines, silver chrome accents and vintage pieces, but I also am enamored with rich colors, embroidered fabrics and things that look like they're from another land. I'm on a budget, so most of my finds come from Target, World Market, Crate and Barrel Outlet and the thrift store.
Every summer I like to work on a new painting project. It's the easiest way to fill my walls with something I'll appreciate that doesn't cost a lot of money. I have discovered numerous ways to display my artwork from leaning pictures against the wall to using upholstery nails (no hammering required and much sturdier than a push pin) plus ribbon and bending a twisty tie around hooks when I've run out of hanging wire.
Budgeting equals improv. I believe when you step inside a person's home you should discover a bit about who they are - not rich or poor, but fun or practical. Clearly from my apartment you can tell I enjoy being surrounded by water, have an affection for colorful sparkly items and don't mind going on a trip or two. After all, how else is this Dallas girl going to get to the beach?
