Microsoft has finally released their new Sidewinder branded keyboard and mouse. Interestingly, the numeric keypad is detachable, and can be fixed on either side of the keyboard. The keyboard looks impressive enough. The asymmetric and blocky design makes you think of Darth Vader for some reason.

In an attempt to differentiate their product lines from Logitech and Razer, Microsoft has come up with a chunky and asymmetrical design, which does grab the eye. The keyboard itself possesses a lot of extra buttons. It also has a two color LED backlight and other features such as cruise control, which continues an action without having to hold down a key or keys assigned to the action. The detachable keypad is programmable with up to 90 macros. The in-game macro record button lets you record any sequence of keystrokes.

The mouse has nine buttons and is designed for handling vertical side buttons, with an adjustable sensitivity up to 2000DPI. It also has five customizable buttons and a quick-launch button. The SideWinder X6 Keyboard and the Sidewinder X5 Mouse will be available in September for $80 and $60 respectively.
