Mindy Kaling’s Floral Botanical Curtains Bring the Outdoors In

Mindy Kaling continues to serve up the ultimate interior design inspiration. As we all collectively spend more time at home due to COVID-19 quarantine, the “Never Have I Ever” creator has been regularly sharing Instagram posts from the inside of her chic and cozy home—a Los Angeles residence that once belonged to Frank Sinatra, by the way—and each snapshot has been Pinterest-worthy at best. Kaling’s most recent post is no different. In celebration of National Book Lovers Day on Aug. 9, the actor shared a photo of herself with some children’s books against the backdrop of some dreamy botanical-print curtains.

The cream-colored curtains are adorned with vibrant green (and a touch of red) prints of various plants and flowers. There are also some red butterflies flanked throughout. The entire thing evokes a springtime garden. (Kaling even rocks a red and white floral dress, which compliments the floral, botanical-print backdrop, too.) Botanical, garden-print curtains are a good way to bring the illusion of the great outdoors in. Given that it’s been months and months of quarantine now, the idea of emulating a garden inside of our homes makes us want to bloom. It’s also an inspired design choice for those who don’t have gardens of their own.
