Alba and Khaled have created the perfect mix of their passions in this apartment in Barcelona’s Poblenou neighborhood, which they share with their son and daughter, Tarek and Kala. The couple work together in a creative agency specializing in gastronomy, PSWorks, as well as the popular food guide, Plateselector. And in 2021 they saw an opportunity to be part of an architectural project that ended in the perfect home for them.

They were investors in a building that was undergoing an architectural restoration. And as the construction progressed, the couple started to fall in love with the top floor apartment of the building, with its curved walls and lots of natural light. They decided to buy the place and start a new adventure there!
They had already been living in a rental home in the same neighborhood, but instead of just moving their existing furnishings to the new sleek, modern space, they decided to sell all of their stuff and start fresh.
Having practically no furniture allowed them to live in the apartment for awhile to really see and feel what the space and their family might need to live in this home. Now, they have a small but mighty array of exquisite things that fulfill their family’s needs and fit the style of the architecture beautifully.
The big and open kitchen is something Alba has wanted all her life, and they have designed the heart of their home to fit their love of cooking and modern style.
The kitchen’s design is actually unique and flexible: Stainless steel kitchen cabinets on castors can be moved around to suit different activities, but the stunning red marble counters stay in place, floating just above the steel cabinets.
