Mirrors in a small space are a classic way to make a space look larger. But mirrored tiles can easily scream 80s flashback...and not in a good way. But in the hands of one of our favorite bloggers, the "chalkboard paint of the 80s" can take be propelled in the 21st century.
The key to making this look modern rather than retro is to treat the mirrored wall casually, as if it were a regular painted wall. So, along with mirroring the wall, consider:
- covering it with wall decals
- using the mirrors diagonally instead of horizontally
- layering bookshelves over the mirrored wall
- hanging paintings over it
