Forgive us if our store posts are a bit heavy in the "online" category this month. We don't buy a lot of kid stuff, so we need you Chicago kid design experts to give us local store tips. In the meantime, our internet research has given us some great finds, like Modernseed. If you're one of the 113 readers who live in an adult-only home (number taken from our survey), chances are when you need a baby/kid gift, you go online first anyway (are we assuming too much?).

Though they have a studio/showroom located in Oakland, CA (AT: SF already blogged them here), the company really seems to rock the e-commerce. With a site helpfully divided into eight categories, there's so much good modern design here we had a hard time picking only a few pieces to feature. Eventually, we narrowed it down. (George Nelson clock, right, $125)

P.S. A lot of the stuff offered on the site is for adults (and not only parents): bags, laptop trays, clocks, stools, etc.
