"A woman in love with her table saw and modern design," that's how mom Kiersten, owner of ModMom Furniture, describes herself. She learned by watching her dad build things while she was growing up. Now she builds beautiful but affordable modern kids furniture out of her garage in Los Angeles.

We first discovered Kiersten's furniture on Etsy. This great Lego Table on Castors was one of the featured products on the Etsy front page. The inspiration for this item came from Kiersten's son who loved playing with legos and leaving them all over the house. But when they tried to pick them up, his creations would break. This table is a great solution. Two large canisters and a cabinet beneath store legos, and a chair also fits inside. The whole thing can then be rolled away and out of sight when playtime is over.

Another one of our favorites- $275 will purchase this modern, handmade playtable and two chairs. The base is detachable for easy storing. There is also the option to purchase a Lazy Susan for the top of the table or choose chalkboard paint for the top.

Here's a great design. It's a play table but it has a removeable kitchen top. The box seat tucks away just like the lego table.

One more: This bench on castors looks great, can hold lots of items, and is also on castors so it can be moved around the room.

Kiersten uses birch and birch plywood, biscuit joinery for extra strength, and slow-closing hinges for safety. Not only is her design beautiful, but as a mother of two, Kiersten designs versatile pieces that are beautifully functional.
