These Are The Most Instagrammed Paint Colors of 2022
As expected, social media continues to dominate home trends, with plenty of people finding endless design inspiration as they scroll their feeds. If you’re looking to change up the color scheme on the walls in one or more rooms of your space, you might be curious about the most popular paint colors that have made a splash all over the socials this year.
The pros at Alan Boswell Landlord Building Insurance did some digging to find the most popular paint hues of 2022, combing through Instagram hashtags to determine which colors reigned supreme this year. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Farrow & Ball makes up 70 percent of the top 10 list, with the U.K.-based paint company proving they’re a force to be reckoned with these days.
Topping the list with 54,300 Instagram hashtags, the researchers call Hague Blue a “dramatic yet elegant blue hue” that “adds a touch of sophistication to your abode and easily warms up your living space when paired with neutrals like cream or beige.”
In second place with a cool 34,100 hashtags is Green Smoke, a bluish-tinted green that the researchers note would look great with just about any other colors, but especially a pop of gold or two. In third place with more than 26,800 hashtags is the rich, inky Stiffkey Blue, which looks just as modern with cool grays as it does with disco-inspired metallics.
Rounding out the top five are two gray hues: Laura Ashley’s Dove Grey with more than 26,000 hashtags and Zoffany’s Paris Grey — which has dominated Instagram for several years now — with 24,000 hashtags. These gentle neutrals prove that gray still has a hold over design trends, a theme that seems to be sticking around as we roll into 2023.
