Moving Tip: Assign A Designated Spot For Essential Items

Despite your best intentions to keep things neat and orderly on moving day, your living room will most likely look like it could end up on an episode of Hoarders. At least that was the case with our living room yesterday where you could find a barely noticeable path from the living room to the kitchen.

One sure-fire way to keep essential items at the ready--create a temporary landing zone for your stuff. Our go-to spot ended up being the bar area of our kitchen where we could easily locate scissors, cell phone and also drop off important docs that were vital to our move. For you, it might be the mantle on the fireplace or the one clear corner of the living room. Once you decide on your "nerve center" for moving day, let everyone else know about the designated spot. While we were up to our noses in boxes, we always knew exactly where to find our keys.
