My favorite children's book and why I love it: Scaredy Squirrel Makes a Friend by Melanie Watt. It's simply put, the funniest picture book ever! Melanie is incredibly clever (I say that as if we are friends. I'd like to imagine it that way.) I'm also a sucker for bold graphics so I love the illustrations too.

To celebrate Learning at Home month, we've asked some of our favorite bloggers about their favorite children's book, illustrator and more. Read on…

My children's favorite book: Creed seems to have a new favorite everyday. Today, his favorite is A Small Surprise by Louise Yates; yesterday, it was The Monster At the End of This Book by Jon Stone and Michael Smollin; the day before that, it was The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog by Mo Willems. Fickle? Maybe, but it makes me happy to see him embrace so many different books.

A children's book illustrator I adore: Oliver Jeffers, Lane Smith, Emily Gravett, Marla Frazee, Antoinette Portis.

If my life so far were turned into a children's book the title would be: Where the Wild Things Are. Too bad that one is already taken.

Thanks Steph! Stephanie's son Creed loves parties. See his Big People Yellow Party, and his Robot Party. We can already tell that younger bro, Ollie, is going to be a party animal, too.
