We can think of about a dozen parents who would love inspiration for creating a Star Wars party and with Jenny's help the force will be with you: My son was turning 6 years old and is, of course, IN LOVE with anything Star Wars (just like every other 6 year old kid). I wanted to give him the best Star Wars party ever so we made his party theme was Star Wars.
I went very "green" invite by using Evite. I used the image of my son when he was at Legoland standing besides the R2-D2 Lego as the Evite image.
Food was decorated with Star Wars themed labels that I created in Photoshop. I gathered Star Wars characters online and came up with fun names for each food. We had "Chewbecca Beef Teriyaki", "C3P0 Corn", "Pizza the Hutt", "Yoda Soda" (it was green punch). Homemade cupcakes had little lightsabers on them which was decorated with thin red vines and black licorice candies.
I had a friend dress up as the life size Darth Vader and deliver the cake to my son. He walked in with the birthday cake and surprised my son, sang him a happy birthday song and light up his candles. My son was also dressed up as Darth Vader for his own party that day. He was so excited.
Guest were encouraged to come dressed in Star Wars gear. Other kids came as Luke Skywalker and other Darth Vaders.
As a party favor, I did light saber colored bags... green, red, and made a Star Aidan label on it with little Star Wars figurines on the bottom as thank you's to take home. Decorations were Star Wars streamers, banners hanging from the ceiling and walls. Games was a huge Star Wars themed jumpy house.
The cake was a simple cake purchased from Safeway, with my request of just wanting a simple green background and a lightsaber on the edge. I bought some Star Wars figurines from Target and placed them onto the cake myself and created a Star Wars scene. The toys were also a part of his gift as well.
It was Aidan's best birthday ever. And everyone still talks about the guest appearance of Darth Vader showing up at the party :)
