Rachel's budget party had all the essential elements of a wonderful gathering: good weather, good food and good friends. She tells us a bit about it: We chose a Fall theme for Cole's first birthday party. My hope was to host a relaxed get-together which wasn't fussy or gift-oriented. I think my budget for this party was under $40.

Decorations were made out of pipe cleaners, twine, and leaves. Food was a mix of sweet and salty, with pumpkin donut muffins (recipe from Tasty Kitchen), oatmeal cookie sandwiches, fall-colored pepper rings, pretzels and roasted chickpeas. All ages were invited to make a 'sandscape' using a glass baby food jar and fall-colored sand that I dyed with Wilton icing dye from Michaels. Red-wagon rides were a big hit. We had perfect fall weather and a wonderful, memorable time!

Thanks Rachel!

We love a good party! We just put together a new "My Party" Submission Form. If you'd like to share the good ideas and photos from your child's celebration with the Ohdeedoh community please submit through the form found right here.
