Michelle sent in these wonderful photos from the twins 5th birthday party. She writes: My twins love camping and on their 5th birthday they wanted a camping party. It would have been difficult to arrange a real camp out that all their friends could attend...so we had a little camping party in the park! We set up a little tent and camping chairs...
...for the kids and made a faux campfire with stones brought from our yard. We brought our small grill to the park and bbq'd hotdogs for dinner. We also brought s'more fixings for a special camping treat. We had cupcakes instead of a traditional cake...they were topped with chocolate 'teddy grahams' bears. Plain brown goody bags were embellished with cut out tents that opened to reveal the names of our party guests. They were tied with ribbon that read, "The Great Outdoors" (a lucky find!)
The goody bags were filled with little bug collecting kids (which included huge magnifying glasses), bandanas to wear on your head while camping, teddy grahams and a small flashlight. We made up some games that included teams trying to collect the most pine cones, but mostly the kids enjoyed cramming themselves into the little tent and just being goofy. My twins each wore a t-shirt embellished by me and appliqued by grandma with the words "HAPPY CAMPER". We didn't need much for decorations as our setting was a beautiful park near our house with lots of pine trees...the perfect setting for a camping party!
