Just because their housing is temporary doesn't mean Jessica wasn't enthusiastic to create a beautiful room for her daughter. She shares: My husband and I live at Hanscom Air Force Base in standard base housing that's about 60 years old. Just imagine primer white walls and beautiful old wooden floors. As soon as we found out we were expecting our first child, my mind started running wild with all of the decorating possibilities for the nursery. My passion is decorating, although I have no formal training.

Knowing that we would only be living here another one to two years, I decided not to paint the nursery and go bold with colorful accessories instead. The space is pretty small so I wanted to make the room pop without going overboard. I would say my style is pretty eclectic with a mix of old and new. I'm not a huge fan of themed nurseries so I decided to just start buying pieces I loved that would coordinate seamlessly together.

My inspiration started with the vibrant curtains which I bought from Urban Outfitters. I loved how they incorporated a variety of bold colors that I could use throughout the space. I found a few key pieces from thrift stores and the rest I bought from online sites. I found the $15 campaign dresser on Craigslist which I painted white. The two vintage blue picture frames that were once gold, I found for $1.99 each at a local thrift shop as well as the gold floor lamp for $5. I made the cork board out of an old picture frame as well. I made the crib skirt using some zigzag fabric I found online and I also ombre dyed the crib sheet. The initial scrabble letters were purchased from Etsy, which I would have to say are my favorite pieces of the room. The crib came from Wal-Mart's Baby Mod line as well as the shaggy, ivory rug.

Overall, I would say I'm pretty happy with final results. Each detail was carefully chosen with love and it's the most cheerful space in our home.
