Grey, pink and yellow - this may be our new favorite color trio. Claire tells us a bit about her daughter Lila's delightful room: The idea was to create a simple and practical space without overcrowding an already small room. I really wanted something modern and warm with a feminine touch.

Since I decided to keep the budget small, it was important to use some existing elements, like the West Elm rug and the white Ikea Expedit bookshelf. I opted for light grey walls (Benjamin Moore in Bunny Grey) and white furniture (Ikea and Modo). The white furniture and large white wall decal offer a nice contrast with the grey walls and give a modern feel.

The bedding, pillow and lampshade are made with Heather Bailey Fabric (Nicey Jane Lindy Leaf). I love this fabric because it is warm, fun and feminine without being too girly. I also love the combination of pink and orange with the grey walls and white elements in the room. The crib bedding was custom made by The Classy Crib from Etsy and I made the lampshade, pillow and a small "catch all" bag that I tied on the chair's armrest to keep the feeding log, pacifiers and nail clipper handy. The curtain was handmade from Nicey Jane Hop Dot in tangerine.

The rest of the decor (wall decor, toys) are either gifts, Etsy finds or old possessions of mine. The difficulty I encountered was dealing with an old fashion heater and a window a/c unit. Instead of trying to hide them, I chose to use them as display shelves for my old Matryoshka and a cute fox found on Etsy.

Thanks Claire!
