My Room: Sadie

My Room: Sadie

Who says the circus can't be classy? Maggie used it as inspiration for Sadie's lovely space: As we were not going to find out the gender of our little one I wanted to create a room that was both whimsical and gender neutral. I decided to decorate in a sophisticated old world circus theme using navy blue, butter yellow and lime green.

The bed was purchased off of Craigslist for $50, the art is a mixture of pieces I created and Etsy finds and my mother skillfully made the bedding, drapes and chair. My mother did an amazing job with the freebie old wooden glider, which she reupholstered!

Sadie's room is small (9 x 11) and had four doorways leading into it, we decided to increase the storage space by having a custom bookcase made to fit an existing doorway which was not in use. I painted the bookshelf white and added gold foil wrapping paper to dress up the case. We now have a nice place to display fun finds and functional storage!

The room is bright and cheerful and a lovely space to simply be with Sadie.

Thanks Maggie!
