For Non-Renter Hardwood Floors Only: NBA Baller Beats

Your neighbor's worst nightmare, NBA Baller Beats was the first game I previewed at this year's E3 show floor, and now after watching it in action, I wish we didn't live in a second floor apartment. Using a Xbox 360 and the Kinect sensor, players can tap into their inner Dwayne Wade and test their dribbling skills in rhythm to 30 song of varying difficulty using an included genuine basketball like Dance Dance Revolutionists and Guitar Heroes before them...

NBA Baller Beats challenges players using a real basketball to master ball-handling skills by dribbling and performing moves to the beats of an eclectic soundtrack. Train alongside your favorite NBA franchise unlocking songs, difficulty levels, environment accessories, and over 100 posters and Panini's 2012 NBA HOOPS trading cards that showcase NBA players' greatest moves. The music is your guide as the Kinect motion sensor captures every movement of both player and ball to create an entirely new basketball gaming experience. Master crossovers, pump fakes, behind-the-back, around-the-world and more as you bounce the ball to the beat of 30 licensed tracks that span across decades and genres including hip-hop, rock and old school classics.

Even the skilled hoop stars invited to demo the game at the Majesco E3 booth seemed challenged to keep in rhythm and pull off requested moves, but the game looked plenty fun, and there's no doubt a person could improve their dribbling skills (or learn any) in short time playing, making the game ideal for competing athletes and gym rats alike.

The only and big question is who will be able to play NBA Baller Beats at home (definitely not apartment dwellers like myself), considering the game requires not only a non-carpeted floor, but enough room to pull off crossover dribbling and not risk knocking down/breaking nearby household items while perfecting your handles. Here's to hoping some of your out there have converted garage spaces...
